Emotional Tour of Poland

This is the 5th post about our Europe in 360° project. To get a better understanding of this adventure, we recommend you read the introductory article.

Our first stop was Wrocław, young and dynamic town with a strong population of students. After several stays in various hostels, we opted to stay in a small apartment located directly in the main “Rynek”. These coloured districts are very common in this region of Europe and act as small town centers. A 360° photo taken from the middle gives you an aerial view of the neighbourhood, dominated by a church.

After a long train ride, we arrived in Krakow, the former capital and our second stop in Poland. The city is charming and the Rynek, although much larger than that of Wrocław, has a similar layout with its church and town hall.

The highlight of our visit was a few kilometers from the city: Auschwitz-Birkenau, a former Nazi concentration and extermination camp. This sad visit marked us but we still highly recommend it. Our tripod was not allowed on the site so our 360° photography possibilities were very limited. We also keep some reserves about the content we publish from the museum.

In 2014, the museum created an interactive virtual tour that allows you to have a bird’s eye view of the location. You can take a look at the visit by clicking the image infamous gate below.

Our third and last stop was in Warsaw, the current capital of Poland. The city was formerly called “Paris of the East”. However, during the Second World War, Warsaw was one of the most affected cities by history and was 85% destroyed.
